Hello everyone, I am back with a new task! For this week’s assignment, me and my three friends (Özgür Fidan, Tufan Gürültü, Zeynep Yeşildağ) had to design a handout in which we presented 2 landmarks and 1 museum in Prague, Czech Republic through AR/VR components and supplementary activities. We decided to choose this city largely due to our friend Özgür’s enthusiasm. Besides my friends’ influence, I also think that Prague is a must-see location on the continent of Europe due to its rich history and iconic landmarks. Among these landmarks, we agreed to work with Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the National Gallery of Prague. For the Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, we added QR codes on our handouts which lead our students to 360-degree tours on YouTube, while the National Gallery provided a comprehensive, interactive map of the whole gallery. We also prepared a lesson plan based on the ASSURE Model’s evaluation categories which was provided by our dear teacher. In addition to those, we also designed an activity which we introduced traditional Czech food to our students combined with a writing activity to make sure that our students absorbed all the information we presented to them. I believe that integrating AR/VR into lessons like this makes the content more digestible and memorable to students. Also, it helps teachers a lot by giving them the opportunity to create such experiences for their students.
We used Canva to design the handout, 360 tour guides are sourced from YouTube, and the interactive map is from the National Gallery’s official website. Lastly, I really want to give credit to our teacher for providing us with opportunities like these creative tasks! Canva Lesson Plan Handout National Gallery of Prague
