Final Post

Hello again everybody, we’ve come to the end of another chapter. Semester is over and it is finals week, so I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for sharing this journey with me. As always, this semester had its own ups and downs but overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

First of all, I can’t begin to talk about my experiences without giving a big thank you to my dear teacher Gökçe KURT due to her contributions. So, let’s talk about the course. I loved it overall because it had a lot of creative tasks and it was mainly focused on group work. I am always a fan of exploring and creating new things with some quality brainstorming. Also, I feel that collaborating with my friends motivates me, which supports participation and turns the entire process into fun memories. I also want to quickly mention my most and least favorite tasks that we’ve completed. I would say that my least favorite is “Preparing a Worksheet With Technology: Corpus and AI” because I think COCA is not user friendly due to its complex interface and frequent crashes which made the process a lot more complicated than it could’ve been. For my favorite task, I would like to talk about “Flipped Classroom Approach”. It is my favorite task that I participated in because I think it required the most amount of creativity and teamwork amongst all tasks. Also, I had a lot of fun in the process of making our video and voiceover which explains why it is my favorite task.

I think the students who are going to take this course next year are very lucky because they will get work with a great teacher, about modern day problems in teaching. My advice for them is they should follow their calendar closely and get their tasks ready on time.

I believe that this course contributes to teacher professional development by preparing them for common obstacles that they might face in modern day teaching. I cannot guarantee if this a goodbye for good, so until next time, take care!
